Group vs. private: What is the difference?

Group training is pre-scheduled and offered to the general public. This is good if you want to try diving and keep costs down. Class sizes are usually 8 to 12 students. Due to the nature of a group class, the progression is based on the class average.

  • Those to whom diving comes naturally will find themselves either bored or unchallenged.
  • Those who need that extra attention and focus may feel rushed as the instructor needs to focus on the entire group versus those who need attention.
  • Most students can only complete four dives whether they’re ready to dive independently or not.

Private training caters to the individual or groups of up to four of your friends or family. This allows Scott to offer his undivided attention to your needs. Based on your skill level, you will progress at your own pace, and Scott will ensure you are adequately challenged to become a safe, confident and capable diver.

Scott’s goal is simple: To teach you how to have fun underwater while diving safely. You might be at that point with four dives; it might take you six dives. It doesn’t matter. Scott will design the schedule to fit your needs and based on your availability seven days a week.
